How I Met Your Father – a Guest Post by my mother

As a follow up to my post from yesterday, here’s the other side of the story from my mother.

It was 1967 and the whole world came to Expo 67 in Montreal. My grandmother bought me a “Passport” to Expo for my 21st birthday. I went to the World’s Fair almost every day or at least almost every evening for the duration, with my sister Lise and good friend Lorna. Most nights we visited La Ronde, the amusement area of Expo. It was there, one week after my birthday, that the three of us happened upon an area where there were animal rides and where I met a young man who looked like Paul Newman (who happened to be my favourite actor, by the way). That night when I got home and was telling my mother about the evening, I told her I had met the most arrogant, maybe most obnoxious man I had ever met but I was going to marry him… So I always said that Nana had given him to me for my birthday!

The photos below are from the following couple of years (they may not be in quite the right order).

So, what do you think?
